Travel itself is not necessarily the problem. The problem is whether he makes an effort to be present and communicate when he returns. Ask him directly what your daily life would look like after marriage.

Long distance is a real strain, and no one should dismiss it as though everything is automatically fine. If frequent travel is a permanent part of his work, you need a workable plan before the marriage contract.
