Ask a respected and wise uncle from either side of the family to mediate. Sometimes a word from an elder opens doors that you cannot open alone.

By God, that is a difficult situation. We have seen similar cases in the UAE, and families often soften when they meet the grandchild. Keep trying to communicate calmly, and do not sever contact from your side.
