Widows and Divorced Women

I Am a Widow with Children. Should I Remarry, and What Should I Tell Them?

My husband died three years ago, and I have two daughters and a son. My eldest is 14 and says openly that she does not want her mother to remarry. I need stability, but I fear hurting my children. How have others handled this?

I went through the same situation. I worked on building trust with my eldest daughter before introducing her to anyone. Once she felt that her opinion mattered to me, her position gradually changed.

Your right to a life is no less important than your children's needs. You do not have to choose between them, but time and honest conversations can resolve a great deal.
